Software developers by the thousands visited the Intel Software booth at the sold-out Microsoft Build conference April 2 – 4 in San Francisco’s Moscone Center. They were able to learn about how the Intel® Developer Zone provides world-class knowledge, tools and support for Windows 8 cross platform apps.
The Intel Software exhibit demonstrated the latest Tablet, 2 in 1 and All-in-One devices running Windows as well as innovative and flexible applications that take advantage of Intel’s latest technologies. One of the applications displayed was Krita* Gemini*, which dynamically configures itself on a 2 in 1 device to provide the best user experience in Desktop or tablet mode. Intel App Innovation Contest winning apps were demonstrated in the booth as well including grand prize winner Scribblify by Matthew Pilz, Tablet winner one touch notation by Dimitriy Golovanov, and Healthcare winner My Health Assistant by Tim Corey.
The exhibit also demonstrated Intel tools including Intel® INDE, A native cross-platform development suite which includes Easy-to-Use: C++/Java* native tools & samples for Microsoft Windows* and other platforms.
Intel presented a joint session with Microsoft on enabling off-SOC development for Windows platforms using Intel hardware. This session provided a detailed walk thought on how developers can easily obtain and use off-the-shelf, low cost systems for Windows development using the Intel hardware.
Intel also provided an opportunity for developers to participate in the in the Microsoft Universal Apps Challenge with two specific 15 minute challenge activities: The first challenge included creating a 2 in 1 application handling multiple input types. The second gave developers a chance to create a Windows application using the Intel® XDK.
